The Most Sought-After Features for Kitchen Appliances

Sought-After Features for Kitchen Appliances

With so many features to choose from on the market, it can be hard to figure out the best kitchen appliances for your home or project. Here are some of the most popular features you should be looking for.

Every year, we see appliance manufacturers unveil new models that tout improved, top-of-the-line features. While some of these features are certainly helpful for homeowners and can be good selling points for home builders and remodeling contractors, it can be hard to determine the best fit for a particular project with so much to choose from. However, from our experience, we have found that there are a few appliance features at the top of everyone’s list when they’re shopping around. Here are some of the most sought-after kitchen appliance features.

Refrigerator: Digital Temperature Control

In the old days, refrigerators had temperature dials, but it was very difficult to determine the actual temperature inside. In turn, figuring out if there were problems that needed addressed required a keen eye. Nowadays, however, digital temperature controls allow for homeowners to see exactly what temperature their refrigerator and freezer is set at, they can make pinpoint adjustments as needed, and they can tell at a glance when there are problems. As most refrigerators are designed to last a long time, there are still plenty of the old analog control units out there that can be replaced with a new digital control model!

Cooktop: High-Power Features

Most homeowners don’t want to spend the majority of their evening cooking meals for their families. They’d rather be unwinding and enjoying their time with the family! So, any feature designed to help meals cook faster will be well-received. Cooktops with high-power features allow for faster cook times. You should also consider induction cooktops – though they may be a little more expensive than a gas or electric cooktop at first (if you have to purchase induction-specific cookware), the time saved is well worth it. Another buying tip: don’t emphasize BTU ratings too much when shopping around for cooktops. The BTU rating indicates how much gas is used and heat is generated during operation, but a higher BTU doesn’t necessarily mean a faster cook time.

Dishwasher: Heavy-Duty Racks

Dishwashers seem to have it all when it comes to features: drawers, specialized cycles, a sleek interface with hidden controls. But what is the most important feature that all great dishwashers share? They’re easy to load and are built to last with heavy coated wiring. Examine the racks of dishwashers you’re interested in to ensure they’ll hold up over time.
